- Zoey Deutch is in awe of Jennifer Aniston after working with her on *Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass.*
- The *Friends* alum makes a cameo appearance in the raunchy comedy about celebrity hall passes.
- “It’s like when you just see someone who’s the greatest of all time doing it, you’re like, ‘Goddammit!,’” Deutch recalled.
From one rom-com staple to another.
Zoey Deutch won’t spill many details about the special scene that she shares with Jennifer Aniston in her new raunchy comedy *Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass,* but she’s happy to talk about how it felt to work with the TV and movie legend.
“That was incredibly surreal for me,” Deutch, 31, told PEOPLE of working with the *Friends* alum. “I have met this person and I’ve spoken to them a couple times, and they’re incredibly warm and lovely and funny, but working with them was absolutely one of the most surreal moments of my life and inspiring too.”
She continued, “It’s like when you just see someone who’s the greatest of all time doing it, you’re like, ‘Goddammit!’”
The film, which is actually packed with A-listers, stars Deutch as a starry-eyed hairdresser whose relationship is derailed when her fiancé Tom (Michael Cassidy) follows through on their celebrity hall pass agreement by having sex with a certain star. The problem is that when they made the arrangement, Gail thought it was a joke.

In order to save her future marriage (and save face), Gail heads to Hollywood to find her own pass: Jon Hamm (playing himself).
Where does Aniston fit in? Well — **SPOILER ALERT** — she’s the star that Tom, the so-called perfect boyfriend, sleeps with. And poor, unsuspecting Gail happened to walk in on it happening.
Recalling the shoot, Deutch shared, “Every take was just so brilliant and I was probably the worst actor in the world because I was more of an audience than a participant.”
Jennifer Aniston passed on 'Serendipity' because 'Friends' felt like weekly rom-com

'Voicemails for Isabelle' director was worried end cameo scene would come off 'creepy' (exclusive)

She added, “I couldn’t help myself. It was definitely one of the coolest moments of my life.”
Deutch and Aniston have not previously shared the screen, but seeing them join forces feels meant to be, given their joint commitment to romantic comedies. While *Gail Daughtry *is much more of a screwball comedy, Deutch has also been in the spotlight due to the success of *Voicemails for Isabelle*, the romcom that sees her star opposite Nick Robinson as two strangers who connect after a phone number mix-up.

Prior to her latest romance title, Deutch has been the romantic heroine of films including *The Threesome, Something from Tiffany’s*, and* Set It Up*. And Aniston, of course, is a veteran queen of romcoms with films ranging from* Just Go With It* and *Murder Mystery *to* Along Came Polly *and* Picture Perfect.*

Aniston is just one of many A-list surprises in *Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass,* which hails from *Wet Hot American Summer *alums David Wain and Ken Marino. Reflecting on her overall experience making the film, Deutch said she had “a blast,” adding, “I have been a fan of David’s work for so long, I just was like, no one else could write this. No one else could make this. It’s so singular and so specific to him.”
*Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass* is in theaters now.
