A second season of The Madison has already been filmed.
Most of the cast is expected to return, including Michelle Pfeiffer.
Kurt Russell has confirmed that season 2 will consist of six episodes.

The Madison hit hard, its story of sudden loss, grief, and hard-fought acceptance sending us scrambling for the tissues.
Over six episodes — released three at a time across two weeks — Taylor Sheridan's emotional drama follows the wealthy Clyburn clan as they leave New York City for rural Montana to identify the bodies of family patriarch Preston (Kurt Russell) and uncle Paul (Matthew Fox) after a deadly plane crash.
Season 1 wrapped on March 21 with a gut punch, but the family's story isn't over yet. Here's everything we know about The Madison season 2 so far, including what stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell have to say about it.
Will there be a season 2 of The Madison?

As of this writing, Paramount+ hasn't officially announced a second season of The Madison — even though it's already been filmed.
Back in January, Russell told Entertainment Weekly that the show's filming schedule had to be tweaked since he was already committed to shooting season 2 of Apple TV's Monarch: Legacy of Monsters at the same time.
"Michelle Pfeiffer and Taylor were able to get together with the people at Paramount+ and said, 'Well, let's do two seasons instead of just one,'" he recounted. "'And then before we start the second season next year, instead of doing that, we will start with Kurt's stuff. We really do want him to play the guy. And we'll get his first season out of the way first, and jam all that in there, and then go into the second season and do that.' And so we were able to do that.”
Several cast members have also been open about having filmed a second season. Late last year, for example, Elle Chapman, who plays Stacy and Preston's youngest daughter Paige, posted on her Instagram Story that filming for season 2 had wrapped.
Jane Wiseman, head of originals at Paramount+, told EW that she envisions a third season for the show. "I mean, this is, again, a love story — and an evolution — and so I do feel like there's a lot more to tell," she said.
Representatives for Paramount+ did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment.
What happened at the end of The Madison season 1?

The season 1 finale of The Madison ends on an emotional note.
Throughout the season, the Clyburns are struggling to cope with the sudden death of family patriarch Preston, and after spending time in his beloved Madison River Valley in Montana, they return to New York to try to get back to their lives.
In the city, Stacy's friend Liliana (Rebecca Spence) sets up a memorial in Stacy's apartment, but Stacy isn't ready to face it. With a little encouragement from her therapist, Phil (Will Arnett), she reluctantly agrees to attend — and even invites him along.
Meanwhile, Paige (Chapman) loses her cool at work after overhearing her colleague make rude comments about her dad's fatal plane crash and carbon footprint. She punches her coworker, who threatens to press charges. But since the woman also lost her father, she decides to drop them. Still, Paige ends up with a minor violation and loses her job.

At the memorial, things get awkward. We finally meet Abby's (Beau Garrett) notorious ex-husband, Dallas (Tanc Sade), who clearly lives up to his reputation.
Stacy eventually slips away from the gathering, leaving her phone behind. Abby panics and calls the police to report that her mom is missing. By the next morning, Cade (Kevin Zegers) finds Stacy back in Montana, sleeping next to Preston's grave.
What is The Madison season 2 about?

Details about The Madison season 2 are still under wraps, but Wiseman told EW in March that the family is still very much reeling from Preston's death at the end of season 1.
She pointed out that it's been "less than a week" since the accident, and Russell added, "[Stacy's] still gonna run into people saying, 'Hey, how's Preston doing?' 'He's a great guy.' 'Remember the time we did that thing?' There won't even be time for her to say he's dead!"
In a March 2026 interview with The Wrap, Pfeiffer teased that season 2 has "a surprising amount of laughs and comical relief."
She continued, "I think that in the first season it goes in between sorrow and grief and denial and trying to be stoic, and all of those confusing feelings when you’ve had a traumatic loss in your life. And so season 2, I think it’s a little more raw and more in sinking in."
On the other hand, Russell revealed that season 2 will feel "more painful, because of the sweetness, that exists that you're now beginning to fully just accept."
Who's in the cast of The Madison season 2?

Pfeiffer, Russell, and Chapman have already finished filming for The Madison season 2, though it's not yet clear which other cast members are also returning. Season 1 also starred Garrett, Sade, Zegers, Spence, Arnett, Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, and Danielle Vasinova.
One cast member who won't be back is Matthew Fox, who played Paul Clyburn, Preston's younger brother. He confirmed this to The Hollywood Reporter, saying, "I'm at a point in my life where I’d rather pop in and do something interesting, but I don’t want to dedicate six years of my life to something [again]."

Russell told EW that The Madison season 2 will follow the first season's format and consist of six episodes.
"I was very happy about that, because I really like what The Madison is. It's a smart show," he said, adding that Sheridan is a "really good writer."
