Whoopi Goldberg has been sitting on a secret at *The View*'s Hot Topics table.

"I have gas!" the EGOT-winning Hollywood icon, *Ghost* star, and pop culture force announced Monday, opening her arms wide as she dropped the news on her unsuspecting live studio audience.

Goldberg beamed upon informing the audience of the inner workings of her body — which came over three years after one of the show's January 2023 broadcasts was hilariously derailed by a mysterious fart noise and massive water spillage of unknown origin.

Goldberg made her latest stunning admission about her emissions Monday, amid an interview with *The Bride!* director Maggie Gyllenhaal, who told the cohosts about an on-set ritual that saw the cast and crew letting out a bevy of sounds as a release to celebrate Christian Bale's hours upon hours of time spent in the makeup chair.

"After sitting still that long would do what we called the primal scream or the monster howl. We can do it if you want!" Gyllenhaal said, with the audience then joining the cohosts in screaming three times in a row.

Ana Navarro then took charge, exclaiming, "Trump is still president!" as the audience yelled once again, leading to Goldberg referencing her flatulent past.

Goldberg's announcement also came minutes after returning cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck called for "civil discourse" at the Hot Topics table, over a year after she publicly slammed current cohost Joy Behar and the show as "sinking" endeavors.

In addition to the aforementioned fart noise/water spillage incident of 2023, Goldberg's past gaseous adventures have taken her on a journey on set at *The View* and beyond.

In 2022, *Claim to Fame* personality and Goldberg's granddaughter, Amara Skye, said that her grandmother got her stage name "Whoopi" (the star's real name is Caryn) "because she likes to fart a lot." Skye even claimed that Goldberg once got into a fart war with Billy Crystal and Robin Williams inside an elevator.

"I guess they were Dutch Oven-ing each other, just basking in the ambience of farts," Skye revealed.

Goldberg confirmed to the *New York Times* in 2006 that her chosen name, "Whoopi," came from the sound of a whoopee cushion.

"Here’s the thing. When you’re performing on stage, you never really have time to go into the bathroom and close the door. So if you get a little gassy, you’ve got to let it go," Goldberg said at the time. "So people used to say to me, 'You are like a whoopee cushion.' And that’s where the name came from."

Goldberg has also let it rip on *The View* in the past, including during a 2011 interview with *Homeland* actress Claire Danes.

"Excuse me. I think I just blew a little frog out of there," Goldberg said at the time, after the audience laughed at her audible instance of passing gas.**

*The View *airs weekdays on ABC. *The Bride!* is in theaters Friday.
