- *My Life with the Walter Boys* returns for a third season on Aug. 6.

- Nikki Rodriguez, Noah LaLonde, and Ashby Gentry — the three points of the show’s love triangle — are all set to return.

- Naveen Paddock, Chad Rook, and Erin Karpluk are among the new cast members.

Love triangles are complicated. Love triangles involving two brothers? That's another level of messy. Shows like *The Vampire Diaries* and *The Summer I Turned Pretty* struck gold with this dynamic, and now *My Life With the Walter Boys* is doing the same.

Based on Ali Novak's novel of the same name, the Netflix teen drama follows Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), whose new life with the Walter family in Silver Falls, Colo., is upended when she develops feelings for brothers Alex (Ashby Gentry) and Cole (Noah LaLonde).

As Jackie tries to sort out her feelings for the dependable, bookish Alex, it becomes increasingly difficult to ignore the undeniable connection she shares with the brooding Cole. By the end of season 2, both Jackie's heart and the brothers' relationship have reached a breaking point.

Season 3, as the show's latest trailer suggests, finds the central trio each pursuing their own passions while remaining caught in one another's orbit. Read on for everything we know about *My Life With the Walter Boys* season 3.****

The season 2 finale of *My Life With the Walter Boys *ends with several emotional cliffhangers that set the stage for an even more dramatic season 3.* *

In the final scene, Jackie finally spills to Cole that she’s in love with him, right after he confesses his love for her. This comes amid Jackie’s relationship with Alex, which they’ve been keeping a secret.

It’s a moment that’s been building all season. As showrunner Melanie Halsall put it to **, Jackie has been “avoiding those feelings for him for a long time” and couldn’t keep them bottled up any longer.

But, as tends to happen on these types of shows, Alex manages to overhear their conversation. “Hearing that will be a real turning point for him,” Halsall told us. “Whether he’ll be hurt, of course that’ll be very difficult for him, but it might be what he needs to hear.”

Before the trio can process it all, Will Walter (Johnny Link) rushes outside to meet an ambulance pulling up to the house. He tells Jackie, Cole, and Alex that something’s happened to Walter family patriarch George (Marc Blucas). What, exactly? Well, that answer will need to wait for next season.

“We ended season 1 on a pretty big cliffhanger, so of course we wanted to be bigger and better in season 2,” said Halsall. “I really wanted to give all the characters a huge thing to deal with in those last moments. … But because this series has been about identity and family, I also wanted to blow a big hole in the whole family dynamic as well at the end, not just in the trio.”

What is My Life with the Walter Boys season 3 about?

Season 3 begins in the thick of season 2's fallout. "With their love lives still hanging in the balance, Alex turns to his new rodeo riding team, and Cole gets back in the driver’s seat of his life, literally, when a race car driver sees potential in him," reads the official synopsis. "Meanwhile, Jackie pours her heart into developing the town’s community space. But when a childhood friend arrives from New York, the life she left behind proves harder to forget than she expected."

Speaking with EW following season 2, Halsall said the season will “delve deeper into the lives and loves of our characters in new and interesting ways.”

She continued, “I wanted to blow the whole thing apart in ways that we weren’t expecting and in ways that are going to have huge repercussions, and the characters will have to deal with those repercussions for quite some time.”

That includes the love triangle at the heart of the series. “Our show is a love triangle, obviously, and I don’t know if those can ever really be resolved. Someone’s always going to get their heart broken.”

As for Jackie, her decision to finally admit her feelings for Cole puts her in a difficult position. “Whatever she decides to do next is going to be difficult. Someone’s going to get hurt,” said Halsall.

In a recent chat with Netflix's Tudum, Halsall said that season 3 is "about growing up, maturing, and stepping up."**

Gentry, meanwhile, hinted at the emotional impact from not only Alex's heartbreak but also George's health crisis. “Everyone’s reality has shattered a little bit, and they’re picking up the pieces of that and trying to put it back together again," he said.

Who’s in the cast of My Life with the Walter Boys season 3?

Rodriguez, LaLonde, and Gentry will return as the show's core trio. Speaking with Tudum, Halsall said Alex "matures more than anybody between seasons 2 and 3," adding that the rodeo rider is on an "upward trajectory."

Halsall also addressed Cole getting behind the wheel in season 3. "This season, we wanted to give him something for himself," she said. "Racing replaces the thrill he would get when he was playing football."

Jackie, meanwhile, will have to reckon with another potential suitor in Eliot (Naveen Paddock), Uncle Richard's hunky new intern. Eliot's arrival once again leaves Jackie questioning whether New York is where she truly belongs.

Chad Rook, who recently appeared in HBO's *IT: Welcome to Derry*, joins the cast as Mac, a drag racer who introduces Cole to the world of competitive racing.

Erin Karpluk (*Being Erica*) enters the fray as Hannah, George's "nomadic" sister. According to her official character description, Hannah "left her sons to live with the Walters and then split for reasons unknown; when she shows up at the front door a thousand days later, she has a lot of bridges to rebuild."**

Is there a trailer for My Life with the Walter Boys season 3?

The season 3 trailer for *My Life With the Walter Boys* arrived on July 15. It teases what's in store for Jackie, Cole, and Alex this season while also confirming that George is still alive—at least for now. Early in the trailer, the Walter family patriarch is shown in the hospital on a ventilator.

"I think this is something that we're all going to be dealing with for a while," Katherine (Sarah Rafferty) says, seemingly referring to George's condition.**

The trailer also offers an extended look at Jackie's new friendship with Eliot, including his attempts to woo her back to New York. "It doesn't have to be your old life," he tells her.

As Cole and Alex dive headfirst into their new passions — drag racing and rodeo riding, respectively — it appears they'll encounter plenty of bumps along the way.

Jackie, meanwhile, is left questioning her future. "I used to be a different person, but then everything changed," she says. "Am I sure that's who I want to be?"**
