The tequila brand docked a 200-Foot golden megayacht at New York City’s Pier 59 as part of Tequila Don Julio 1942 Port of Champions celebration during the final week of the 2026 World Cup where esteemed guests and celebs spent days and nights leading up to the final match dancing to DJ sets and surprise performances, drinking cocktails and nibbling on pairings from New York hotspots like Meduza and Rocco’s, and of course, watching the final match.

One of these surprise performances included Legendary rapper, Nas, who made a surprise appearance and performance at the Port of Champions on Thursday, July 16.

The rap icon, 52, performed hits such as “One Mic” and “If I Ruled the World” on a stage set in front of the Hudson River as fans, including NBA stars James Harden and Jose Alvarado, danced and rapped along.

The tequila brand has made a splash as one of the official liquor sponsors of the tournament, namely with its highly-sought after Tequila Don Julio 1942 limited-edition 2025 FIFA World Cup bottles.

This limited edition release follows last year’s collaboration with DJ Peggy Gou, which featured a teal-mint color and a holographic label that read “194구”, cheekily pronounced 194 Gou.

The body of this year’s bottle features a sleek gold finish, meant to emulate the World Cup trophy, with the FIFA World Cup Logo displayed on the bottom in a bold green to match the cap of the bottle, which looks like a crown. The 750 ml bottle is suggested to retail at $225.

“Fans aren’t just excited about the tournament, they’re looking for meaningful ways to celebrate the moments that make soccer so special and we saw that as an opportunity as a brand that’s synonymous with celebration,” VP of Tequila Don Julio tells PEOPLE exclusively of the bottle. “We’re honored to give fans a new way to celebrate the people, moments and victories that make this tournament so special.”

Though this is only 1942’s second-ever widespread limited edition bottle release, the tequila brand is no stranger

The tequila brand has become notorious for engraving bottles for celebs and big events and is known to be a favorite of stars like Kylie Jenner, Lukas Gage and Snoop Dogg.

Jenner famously went viral during a clip from The Kardashians when she started singing at a family dinner after ordering a glass of 1942 and ginger ale on the rocks, “Cause I’m gonna get wasted/ I just finished a whole cup of 42/ And I’m about to go for my second one,” before looking at her sister Kourtney Kardashian and saying “Kourtney, what the f--- are you on?”

Most recently, following the New York Knicks’ historic Game 5 NBA Championship win, custom 1942 bottles were inscribed and sipped on during the team’s celebration party at The Seville hotel in NYC.
