The Cast of “Fringe”: Where Are They Now?

Fringe is a sci-fi fantasy television show that aired on Fox for five seasons, from 2008 to 2013.

The show, created by J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman, and Roberto Orci, centered around the fictional Fringe Division, a Joint Federal Task Force in the FBI. Led by Agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv), Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble) and his son Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson), the team explores paranormal occurrences, parallel universes and alternate universe counterparts.

Over the years, the Fringe and its cast developed a dedicated following and rave reviews along with multiple nominations at the Primetime Emmy Awards and the Saturn Awards, amongst other ceremonies.

Even though Fringe has been off air for more than a decade, fans are still checking in on the cast today to see what their favorite characters are up to. Here's where the cast of the show is now, 13 years later.

Anna Torv as Olivia Dunham

Anna Torv led Fringe as FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham. After the show ended, the actress took on roles on Secret City, Mindhunter, The Newsreader, and The Last of Us. Torv was nominated for an Emmy award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her guest star appearance on The Last of Us.

In December 2008, Torv married Mark Valley, with whom she co-starred on Fringe. The pair separated in 2010.

Joshua Jackson as Peter Bishop

Joshua Jackson rose to fame through a prominent role on Dawson's Creek and starred in Fringe as Peter Bishop, the jack of all trades civilian consultant brought on by Olivia Dunham. After the show ended, he had roles on The Affair, Dr. Death, Fatal Attraction and Doctor Odyssey.

He also appeared in Karate Kid: Legends in May 2025, and it was announced that he will join the series How to Survive Without Me.

Jackson wed Jodie Turner-Smith in 2019, though the pair split in 2023. Together, they have one child, Juno Rose Diana Jackson.

John Noble as Dr. Walter Bishop

John Noble played the scientist and once institutionalized Dr. Walter Bishop in Fringe. After the show ended, he played Morland Holmes, father of Sherlock Holmes, in Elementary.

He took on various voice acting roles, for projects including The Last Airbender, Transformers: Prime, Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising, Star Trek: Prodigy, Superman: Unbound and Batman: Arkham Knight. He also joined an episode of Severance.

Noble is married to Penny Noble. They have three children, including actress Samantha Noble.

In 2012, Noble was reportedly diagnosed with osteoporosis. He started his charity, Noble Bones, to raise awareness of the disease.

Jasika Nicole as Astrid Farnsworth

Jasika Nicole played Agent Astrid Farnsworth on Fringe. After the show ended, she starred on TV shows like Scandal, The Good Doctor, Station 19 and Punky Brewster.

Nicole is currently the voice of Dana Cardinal on the podcast Welcome to Night Vale.

Lance Reddick as Phillip Broyles

Known for tenure as the staunch and dutiful Lieutenant Daniels on The Wire, Reddick starred in the John Wick franchise after playing Philip Broyles on Fringe. Reddick was also known for his television roles in Resident Evil, Bosch, Lost and Oz. His film credits include Godzilla vs. Kong, One Night in Miami, White House Down and The Guest, to name a few.

Reddick died on March 17, 2023, at the age of 60.

At the time of his death, Reddick had a list of projects in development, including his role of Zeus in 2024's Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, the Jack Harlow-led White Men Can't Jump reboot, Shirley, St. Sebastian and the John Wick spinoff Ballerina.

Blair Brown as Nina Sharp

Blair Brown, a Tony Award-winning actress, is known for her theatre and movie acting, but she has also picked up many TV credits. After starring in Fringe, the actress joined the cast of Orange Is the New Black, playing a character loosely inspired by Martha Stewart.

Brown had a relationship with actor Richard Jordan from 1976 to 1985, and they share a son, Robert Hand Jordan, born in 1983.

Brown dated playwright David Hare from 1985 to 1990, and she was often believed to have been his muse.

Michael Cerveris as The Observer

Michael Cerveris is an acclaimed Broadway and stage actor, with featured roles in plays and musicals like Sweeney Todd, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and Assassins, a role for which he won a Tony Award. After Fringe, he starred in movies like Detours and Ant-Man and the Wasp. He also took on roles in television shows like The Good Wife, Billions and Gotham.

He reunited with Fringe co-star Torv in Mindhunter. Cerveris is now starring in The Gilded Age on HBO.

Kirk Acevedo as Charlie Francis

Kirk Acevedo made a name for himself starring in HBO’s Oz and Band of Brothers.

Acevedo has consistently worked over the years, appearing in The New World, Law & Order: Trial by Jury, 12 Monkeys, Arrow and Star Trek: Picard.

He married actress Kiersten Warren in 2005. They have one child.
