It's been almost a year since Sunset Blvd. closed on Broadway, but director Jamie Lloyd still has a strong connection with the show’s leading lady.
Nicole Scherzinger, who won a 2025 Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her role as Norma Desmond in Sunset Blvd., recently announced that she’s relaunching the Pussycat Dolls with a new song and a global tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album, PCD.
Lloyd, 45, gave his thoughts about Scherzinger, 47, returning to the pop star life during an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the opening night of Every Brilliant Thing in New York City on Thursday, March 12.
"Do you know what? I'm so hyped by the Pussycat Dolls coming back and I've already texted Nicole for tickets," Lloyd revealed.

"I'll be there front and center," he added. "I've been listening to it on the way here actually. I was like, 'I need a little Pussycat Dolls injection of energy,' so I can't wait. And it's so exciting for her."
Scherzinger, along with founding members Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts, will kick off the tour in June, marking their first official tour since 2009. They also released a new single, "Club Song," in celebration of the announcement.
Mya and Lil' Kim will join the band as special guests on the tour.
Along with Scherzinger, Lloyd has also maintained a close bond with Rachel Zegler, as she starred in his production of Evita on London's West End in 2025.
Zegler, 24, and her costar, Diego Andres Rodriguez, have since both been nominated for Olivier Awards. The musical is also in the running for Best Musical Revival, Best Lighting Design and Best Theatre Choreographer (Fabian Aloise).

"Oh, I feel so excited," Lloyd said. "I'm so happy for Rachel and her nomination."
While the director said the possibility of Evita transferring to Broadway is still a "let's see," his other London show, an adaptation of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing starring Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell, will be coming to Broadway this fall.
Hiddleston, 45, received an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actor.

Over the past few years, Lloyd has also directed star-studded productions. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter starred in his Broadway production of Waiting for Godot last year.
