Sister Wives star Kody Brown found himself in the hot seat when Christine Brown’s husband, David Woolley, confronted him during a tense exchange about his relationship with his children.
During Brown's second episode apology tour stop, which landed him in Las Vegas to meet with Christine and Woolley, he found himself answering questions he wasn't ready to face. In typical fashion, Brown became defensive and angry when confronted with his estrangement from his children.
In a clip shared to TLC's Instagram, the reality star was held accountable by an outsider about his relationships with his children. Before marrying Robyn Brown, he had 13 children with Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine.
“Can I give you a little bit of advice? Just a little bit. Start with your kids,” Woolley told Brown, who tried to dance around his behavior toward Christine throughout their marriage. Many of these confrontations were aired on Sister Wives.

He said Kody's exes have "moved on" from the hurt and disappointment over the end of their marriages. “Your kids still need to heal, and that’s the part that you need [to work on],” Woolley said. He admitted he faced the same challenges with his own eight children, claiming they "butted heads” before their relationships improved.

Brown became defensive in the clip. He exclaimed, "My whole purpose here is to apologize to Christine. Not to David, not to anybody else.”
Us Weekly reported the remainder of the conversation, writing that Kody confessed, “I’ve set a boundary with my kids, and I’m setting that boundary with David and Christine. I don’t care what you think. I’m here to apologize, and I don’t even want to be reminded of that because it will bring me back to an angry place.”
In response to Woolley's inquiry, Brown said, "There’s an effort I’m already making and reaching out. Those deteriorations happened as a party, not as an individual. Do you understand that?”
Woolley appeared to have the final word, revealing, “When he cut me off on it, I’m like, ‘OK, I had to say what I said just to make sure, because I am around his kids and I do see them hurt and I’m hoping that he’ll reach out to every one of them. And it’s not just on his terms. It’s on their terms, too.’”
Fans responded to the confrontation in the comments section of TLC's Instagram post. They applauded Woolley for being the first person to stand up to Kody on behalf of his children.
"David has the right, especially as the day-to-day father to Truley [Brown] and the others. David sees what Kody is doing to his children, and David is a 100 times the father that Kody will ever be," claimed one viewer.
'Wow, Kody got so embarrassed. He thought he would control the conversation [like he did with Janelle], but that didn’t happen. I love it," wrote a second Sister Wives fan. "He’s 100% right. The ladies have moved on and don’t need his apology, but the kids DO," declared a third Instagram user.
On December 28, the final stop of Kody Brown's apology tour will be his first legal wife, Meri. In a teaser trailer, she tells him, "You’re not going to shut me down anymore.”
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
