SAG-AFTRA's annual awards show honoring the best film and TV performances of the year might have a new name, though the Hollywood talent set to be honored at the 2026 Actor Awards ceremony is as strong as ever.

Revealed Wednesday afternoon by *Heated Rivalry* rising star Connor Storrie and *Abbott Elementary* actress Janelle James, the 2026 Actor Awards nominations are the latest in a growing line of influential awards bodies to help set the stage for the upcoming Oscar nominations on Jan. 22.

Though she was once widely touted to receive another Best Actress nomination for her work in 2025's *Wicked* sequel, Cynthia Erivo was snubbed once again among the Actor Awards nominations, after she previously weathered a major snub at the Critics Choice Awards, meaning her shot at an Oscar nod for *Wicked: For Good* is now slim.

On the other hand, Ryan Coogler's horror blockbuster *Sinners* soared, scoring individual nominations for cast members Miles Caton, Wunmi Mosaku, and Michael B. Jordan, while the film overall earned nods for its ensemble and its stunt performers.

Other notable film nominees include Timothée Chalamet (*Marty Supreme*), Emma Stone (*Bugonia*), Jacob Elordi (*Frankenstein*), and the *One Battle After Another* ensemble and solo performers (Leonardo DiCaprio, Chase Infiniti, Benicio Del Toro, Sean Penn, and Teyana Taylor).

TV nominations included more *Adolescence* domination, with performers Owen Cooper, Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and Christine Tremarco earning solo nods, while Noah Wyle (*The Pitt*), Sterling K. Brown (*Paradise*), Kristen Wiig (*Palm Royale*), Seth Rogen (*The Studio*), Jean Smart (*Hacks*), Jenna Ortega (*Wednesday*), Claire Danes (*The Beast In Me*), *The White Lotus* stars (Walton Goggins, Aimee Lou Wood, Parker Posey), and *Succession* alum Sarah Snook (*All Her Fault*) showed up in their respective categories, too.

The SAG-AFTRA union's voting committee and subsequent group-wide voting base are among the largest in Hollywood, with heavy crossover into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences' voting branches — meaning both organizations typically share a large number of nominees and winners from major motion pictures.

Last year, both of the SAG Awards' supporting category winners (Zoe Saldaña, Kieran Culkin) went on to win at the Oscars, while lead acting victors Demi Moore and Chalamet lost their corresponding Academy Awards categories to Mikey Madison and Adrien Brody, respectively.

SAG's highest competitive film awards, however, for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, went to *Conclave*, signaling strength in the race and general industry popularity en route to scoring eight overall Oscar nods last year.**

In addition to the competitive categories announced by Storrie and James, the awards body previously announced that legendary star Harrison Ford would receive this year's SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award.

The honor is given to professional actors who've made a lasting impact on the industry and upheld inspirational ideals throughout their careers, and has gone to icons like Jane Fonda, Sidney Poitier, Barbra Streisand, Morgan Freeman, Rita Moreno, Mary Tyler Moore, Dick Van Dyke, and more over the years.
