Joining the British royal family for the fourth Trooping of the Colour of King Charles' reign on Saturday, June 13, Queen Camilla, 78, made a fashion statement as she appeared in a horse-drawn carriage for her ride through London.
The Queen appeared to wear something that was already in her royal closet: a red silk crepe Grenadier Guards uniform dress by Fiona Clare, one of her go-to couturiers. She completed the look with a black Philip Treacy beret with white plume and cap badge of the Grenadier Guards, plus the Grenadier Guards Brooch.

The look felt familiar to her Trooping debut as Queen in 2023, where she also sported the coatdress inspired by the signature red tunics of the Grenadier Guards, which she had recently become ceremonial Colonel of.
Queen Camilla made a small update for the 2026 event, switching out her black hat with a black feather for a similar style adorned with a white feather, nodding to the Grenadier Guards' bearskin hats.

There was a good reason for the royal repeat. It is a significant year for Queen Camilla, as the Grenadier Guards — of which she is the ceremonial Colonel — is the regiment trooping their colour, an honor that rotates through different Household Division regiments each year.

In addition to his actual birth date of Nov. 14, King Charles is fêted each year with public festivities of his birthday in June with a parade known as Trooping the Colour.
The tradition of the British monarch having both an actual birthday and an "official" birthday dates back to the reign of King Charles II, who ruled from 1660 to 1685. It was decided in 1748 that this parade would mark the official birthday of the British monarch, and Trooping the Colour became an annual event during King George III's reign.
There's a simple and logical reason for the official birthday festivities taking place in the summer: there's a higher chance for better weather. Queen Elizabeth's actual birthday was April 21, but it was celebrated by the public in June. King Charles revealed the summer date for the first Trooping the Colour of his reign in 2023, confirming that he'd keep the event around the same time of year.
