What makes Lohan “the most emotional,” she said, “is when people are nice to me”

Lindsay Lohan is good at letting her emotions flow.

“When I get the most sensitive and feel the most emotional is when people are nice to me,” the actress, 39, said during a conversation at The Wellness Oasis on Dec. 2. “Which is wild,” she said, tearing up.

“I notice as I get older, when people are kind to me or I’m doing an interview and someone says something nice, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to cry, thank you,’ ” Lohan added, noting her astrological sign: “I’m a Cancer. I’m very sensitive.”

The Freakier Friday star spoke in front of a crowd at Art Basel’s Reserve Miami Seaplane about her approach to balance, self-care and more. The annual Wellness Oasis Presented by Chase features inspiring conversations and workshops with wellness experts and advocates.

“Being truly seen for who you are,” continued Lohan, is what makes her emotional.

Asked what grounds her, the Parent Trap alum said, “It’s important to always take a moment because everything is moving so fast all the time. You are your own vessel — if you don’t nurture yourself, anything can distract you in a second.”

Lohan, who shares 2-year-old son Luai with husband Bader Shammas, also said she enjoys "all of" motherhood and savoring "every single moment, just knowing you can share your life with another person.”

She also objected to those who say to hold onto their children’s youth “because it’s going to fly by… because you cherish every moment in your own way, you’re trying your best not to miss a moment with your children, you don’t want to ever think that’s possible. But if you’re present in the moments you spend with them, you really don’t miss anything.”

As for what drives her these days, Lohan had an answer ready. “Every day my purpose is to be a great mom, be a great wife, be a great daughter, be a great sister,” she said. “And I want to be a good role model too.”

Following this year’s hit sequel Freakier Friday opposite Jamie Lee Curtis, Lohan will star with Shailene Woodley in the TV adaptation of Count My Lies.
