On Saturday, July 4, the country star shared a throwback photo on Instagram Stories of meeting the 14-time Grammy winner years ago after attending Swift and Kelce's nuptials one day prior.
In the image, Swift, now 36, can be seen donning a strappy red dress and putting her arm around Ballerini, now 32, who layered a white tank top under a pink shirt.
"watched my favorite singer fall in love and get married," the "I Sit in Parks" musician wrote in text over the image. "*cries for several business days.*"

Ballerini, who attended the wedding with several country music stars, wore a sage green gown to the Friday, July 3 event at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
On her Instagram Stories, the "Two Things" performer previously shared a clip of the group — which included Miranda Lambert, Brendan McLoughlin, Maren Morris, Sugarland's Kristian Bush, Little Big Town's Kimberly Schlapman and husband Stephen Schlapman, Little Big Town married bandmatesKaren Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook, and Little Big Town's Phillip Sweet and wife Rebecca Arthur — singing along to Swift songs in the vehicle.

"Nashville in New York for our girl T," she wrote in a caption over the video.
Following the wedding, Ballerini shared a sweet Instagram recap post.
"Long live a love story. ❤️ congrats on the most beautiful wedding @taylorswift @killatrav i'm still crying and dancing," she captioned the post.
Ballerini and Swift have been longtime friends after initially meeting when the former was a kid.

In a now-deleted tweet from 2015, Swift wrote that she had been driving around listening to Ballerini's EP "on repeat," per Today.com.
“You are one of the main reasons I started writing songs and being fearless (ay?) enough to do this. That just made my year,” the "Cowboys Cry Too" artist wrote at the time.

That year, Ballerini also opened up to PEOPLE about her friendship with Swift.
“To have someone that is literally the queen of the world be able to speak to what I'm doing and to know I can text her and she'll give me advice, it's awesome,” she said at the time.
At the 2022 Grammy Awards, Ballerini gave the "I Knew It, I Knew You" hitmaker a sweet shoutout.
"I feel like she constantly makes people proud, whether you know her or not," the country star said at the time. "She's always just advocating for change and moving everything forward for everyone."

Swift's rep confirmed to PEOPLE that the 14-time Grammy winner and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end tied the knot on July 3 wearing looks created by Christian Dior Haute Couture.
The couple did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, Swift's brother Austin was her "man of honor," while Kelce's brother Jasonwas Travis' "best man."
Adam Sandler officiated the wedding ceremony, which featured 20-minute vows from the couple and special performances from Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks, an insider told PEOPLE.
