All of the votes have been counted. After four rounds of voting, fans like you have chosen Jolie Callais of South Lafourche Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field as the 2026 Girls High School Athlete of the Year.
Callais received a whopping 71.16% of the vote, far and away the highest percentage of any athlete — boy or girl — in this year's poll. Morgan Chaisson of H.L. Bourgeois tennis finished second with 23.78% of the vote. Addison Jaccuzzo of Covenant Christian Academy basketball rounded out the podium, finishing third with 4.02% of the vote. The last finalist, Kaci Pellegrin of H.L. Bourgeois wrestling, finished fourth with 1.04% of the vote.
Callais closed out the tournament with four weeks of consistent excellence. She won the opening round to clinch the top seed in the second round, then placed second in both the second round and the semifinal before taking first in the championship.
