Jamie Foxx is welcoming Michael B. Jordan to "rare air" after the 2026 Academy Awards.
After the *Sinners* star took home the Best Actor award for playing both twins Smoke and Stack in Ryan Coogler's decorated vampire period piece and honored the previous Black winners of the ceremony's major award, Foxx took to Instagram to pay tribute to his new fellow winner.
"I can barely breathe right now... you were absolutely incredible in this film," Foxx, 58, began the caption of his post. "An amazing actor, an amazing director — truly all of the above. Tonight we celebrate you: your talent, your mystique, and your incredible passion for the craft."
Foxx went on to declare that Jordan "deserve(s) two Oscars for this one," adding, "When I sat down to watch the movie, I already knew it was going to be special the moment I saw a pair of Jordans on screen. Then the first line — 'Are you guys twins?' and you hit us with, 'No... we cousins!' — man, I was locked in from there."
"Congratulations, my brother @michaelbjordan. You're operating in rare air right now," the *Dreamgirls* star wrote, concluding his message. "Celebrate it to the fullest... and trust me, the after-party is going to be crazy."

Foxx's tribute follows Jordan giving the star a shoutout during his Oscars acceptance speech, in which he thanked "the people who came before me."
"I stand here because of the people that came before me: Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, Will Smith. And to be amongst those giants, amongst those great greats, amongst my ancestors, amongst my guys," Jordan declared. "Thank you, everybody in this room and everybody at home to support me over my career. I feel it. I know you guys want me to do well, and I want to do that because you guys bet on me."
Foxx earned his Academy Award for Best Actor in 2004 for his critically acclaimed portrayal of Ray Charles in the film *Ray*. That same year, he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film *Collateral*. Morgan Freeman took home the gold for that category, winning for his performance as Eddie "Scrap-Iron" Dupris in *Million Dollar Baby*.

Foxx shared a few more posts dedicated to Jordan's win on Sunday night, including one featuring a video of the actor's acceptance speech. "Words can’t express how proud I am of you. You deserve this and so much more. Congratulations my brother," the *Any Given Sunday *star captioned the post.

Sunday's win for Jordan feels even more momentous since he had to overtake fellow frontrunner Timothée Chalamet. The *Fruitvale Station *star went into the night with only a sole win during the season's precursor awards, whereas the *Marty Supreme *star had two, including the comparable category at the Golden Globes.
But Jordan came out on top to take home gold against an impressive list of stars, including former winner Leonardo DiCaprio for *One Battle After Another*, Wagner Moura for *The Secret Agent,* and three-time acting nominee Ethan Hawke for *Blue Moon*.
It was a banner night for the *Sinners *cast overall, with Coogler winning for Best Original Screenplay, Autumn Durald Arkapaw becoming the first woman to win Best Cinematography in Academy Awards history, and Ludwig Goransson picking up his third Oscar for Best Original Score. A night certainly worthy of some In-N-Out, according to Jordan!
