Legendary director Clint Eastwood's son Scott Eastwood revealed how he ended up being cast in Taylor Swift's music video for "Wildest Dreams" one decade after it was released.

While speaking to the alongside his Regretting You co-stars Mason Thames and Dave Franco, Scott, 39, revealed Swift, 35, contacted him out of the blue to appear in the music video for her 2015 single “Wildest Dreams.”

The topic was brought up when the interviewer pointed out that Scott had the most romantic credits to his name of the three co-stars, which included his role as Swift's love interest on a movie set in the music video for the song off of her 1989 album.

“Scott, I don’t know if you know this, did anyone tell you that we all watched the 'Wildest Dreams' video on set?,” Franco, 40, said, which prompted Scott to admit that he was unaware.

Franco went on to explain that their co-star Mckenna Grace “didn’t realize that you were the guy" in the "Wildest Dreams" music video."

“Like this is a video dear to her heart, and she put it together in the moment: Scott’s the guy from the ‘Wildest Dreams’ video. She immediately called her mom. She goes, ‘Scott’s the guy,'" Franco recalled of the sweet moment. "And we hear her mom through the phone go, ‘No!’ You have a place in a lot of people’s hearts with that video.”

After Franco recalled the story, Scott shared that Swift cold-called him to ask him to appear in the music video. “I’d never met Taylor Swift before. She called me out of the blue. She said, ‘Hey this is Taylor.’ I’m, like, Taylor who?” he shared. "'Taylor Swift.'"

The recent interview is not the first time Scott opened up about his experience working on the music video. Back in 2023, he told E! News that he had "fond memories" of their time working together.

“Taylor Swift has become the biggest star in the world,” he said at the time, adding that they were not in touch. He then pointed out that Swift, who was in the process of her Eras tour, was busy. “She’s got a whole tour to do. She does not need to be talking to me," he said.

The Longest Ride actor went on to share that he has no regrets about appearing in the music video. "I'm glad I did that — because people told me not to do it at the time," he said. His response to those naysayers? “Taylor Swift’s cool."

Joseph Kahn, who directed the "Wildest Dreams" music video along with many other of Swift's projects at the time, previously told NPR that the video was based “on classic Hollywood romances like Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, as well as classic movies like The African Queen, Out of Africa and The English Patient, to name a few.”
