Like Ben Affleck, my love for Dunkin' runs deep. I’m from the Northeast, where there’s a Dunkin' in every town. While I moved away from my hometown, I now make my own Dunkin' cold brew at home and sip it in the morning and afternoon. I also make a point to look for these locations when I’m on the road so I can enjoy my go-to order no matter where I am. It’s affordable and delicious—what’s not to love? But this popular coffee spot has so much more on the menu than cold brew—especially when it comes to iced drinks. Iced coffee is my preferred style no matter the weather, and I'm not alone in that. Statistics show that iced coffee is growing by leaps and bounds in North America and is currently an 11 billion dollar business.Like most people, I keep placing the same order every time I go to Dunkin' and I’m also well aware that everyone thinks their favorite drink is the best. There are so many posts, testimonials and debates online from people who swear that they’ve figured out the best iced Dunkin' drink or hack. Here’s the thing: Everyone has different tastes, making it impossible to tell for sure which is best. But there are also certain elements most people can agree on when it comes to good iced coffee drinks, like a nice balance of sweetness, the proper blend of flavors and whether something actually tastes like it’s supposed to. Dunkin' has a huge range of iced coffee drinks, from unsweetened cold brews you can customize to your liking to super-sweet blended drinks that rival milkshakes. Each of these can satisfy your cravings on any given day, but some stand out more than others. As a lifelong Dunkin' fan who loves all things coffee, I decided to branch out from my usual cold brew to sample the chain’s full iced coffee lineup. I discovered a few things along the way, including some new favorites. Here’s what I learned in my quest to find the best Dunkin' iced coffee drink. How I Tasted Dunkin’s Iced Coffee Drinks
To test Dunkin’s iced coffee drinks, I placed a massive order at my local spot, making sure to include the brand’s top options. In the end, I had 12 different drinks to try. I sipped all of them in one round, and then followed that by trying each one at a time to make sure I could appreciate them in comparison to each other and on their own.Between beverages, I made sure to take a few sips of water to wash out the taste of the previous drink and to give each one a fair shake. Because everyone’s taste buds are different, I roped in a few family members and friends to try these out too. The final results are based on my own samplings, along with the input of five others. Parade12 Dunkin' Iced Coffee Drinks, Ranked From Worst To Best
It’s important to get this out of the way upfront: Dunkin’s drinks have a wide range in sweetness. If you’re not into overly sweet drinks, some of these just aren’t going to be for you—and that’s OK!Overall, I found that Dunkin' really excels when the chain allows its classic coffee flavor to shine through, but some of the sweeter drinks are total rock stars too. 12. Dunkin' Candy Bar Signature Latte
Something had to fall at the bottom of the list and unfortunately, that was the Candy Bar Signature Latte. This drink has it all: espresso, chocolate, toffee, pretzel and peanut butter flavors, whipped cream, mocha drizzle and candy bar pieces. Whew! The presentation is incredibly fun, but I wasn’t in love with the taste. There are a bunch of flavors coming together here, and it just feels like…a lot. There’s also a ton of sugar in this drink (105 grams in a medium).Related: The Dunkin’ Hot Chocolate Ordering Hack We Wish We’d Known About Sooner
11. Dunkin'Brown Sugar Shakin' Espresso
This drink was originally inspired by Sabrina Carpenter and features espresso, brown sugar syrup and oat milk. All of those ingredients are tossed into a cocktail shaker with ice and shaken to create a frothy drink. While the drink isn't bad, there’s something about the combination of oat milk and brown sugar syrup that doesn’t taste quite right. If you can tolerate regular dairy milk, I’d recommend trying that out and maybe even asking your server to scale back a little on the brown sugar syrup.
10. Dunkin' Triple Mocha Frozen Coffee
The mocha flavor definitely comes through in this frozen coffee drink, and the topping is gorgeous. It features a pretty whipped cream topper, followed by a swirl of mocha drizzle and hot chocolate topping. But there’s a lot of mocha coming at you with this drink—from syrup and several types of drizzle—which I found overwhelming. If you’re a diehard mocha fan, this is for you. But if you just like a little mocha, you’d be better off trying something else.
9. Dunkin' Iced Latte
Dunkin' sticks with the basic recipe with its iced latte, blending espresso and milk. This is a great choice for people who don’t like overly sweet drinks. The milk adds a little sweetness on its own, so there’s no need to put in extra sugar. My only complaint (and one that my fellow taste-testers shared as well) is that there’s a lot of milk in this drink, which overpowers the espresso taste a little. If you prefer a stronger espresso flavor, it’s worth asking your server to cut back on the milk. Related: The Dunkin’ Breakfast Ordering Hack We Wish We'd Known About Sooner
8. Dunkin' Iced Americano
Dunkin' follows the standard Americano recipe here, blending espresso and water. It’s simple and refreshing, with a nice smooth taste. If you like Dunkin’s rich cold brew, this blend may taste a little weak to you. But if you’re an espresso drink fan and you want something straightforward, the Americano is a great choice.
7. Dunkin'Frozen Coffee
This is delicious—don’t get me wrong. It’s just not as good as some of the other options Dunkin' offers. The frozen coffee has a nice slushy texture that’s still creamy, which is hard to pull off. But the overall flavor is slightly bitter, which isn’t ideal. Again, it’s not bad. It’s just not the best that Dunkin' can do.
6. Dunkin'Frozen Caramel Cream Coffee
Let’s be real: This is a dessert drink. That said, Dunkin' manages to blend several flavors—vanilla, coffee, caramel and cinnamon sugar—to create a masterpiece. All of the flavors work well together to give you a robust, layered taste with every sip. Just be aware that this is very close to a milkshake so you might want to think about it more as a dessert than a morning pick-me-up.
5. Dunkin'Iced Coffee With Cream and Sugar
Dunkin' coffee has a devoted following for a reason: It’s that good. The chain’s iced coffee is no joke, with a smooth, full-bodied flavor that’s distinct without being overpowering. It pairs perfectly with cream and sugar, delivering a classic iced coffee experience. So why is this option only ranked at number five? Dunkin' has a few more options that are exceptional, which bumped this classic down on the list.
4. Dunkin'Iced Cappuccino
Dunkin’s Iced Cappuccino is a stronger version of the Iced Latte, giving you more of an espresso flavor. It’s frothy and bold, and opens you up for customization. It’s not sweet at all on its own, but you can tack on sugar and other flavors if you want. The blend of flavors is completely on point.
3. Dunkin'Iced Macchiato
This one caught me by surprise. Dunkin’s Iced Macchiato levels up where the Iced Latte fell a little short. In true macchiato style, it uses less milk than a latte and a cappuccino. That ratio allows Dunkin’s espresso flavor to shine through without being as intense as drinking straight-up espresso. It’s not overly sweet, making it a perfect option for people who don’t like sugary drinks. It also delivers a similar high-end flavor to what you’d get in a specialty coffee shop.
2. Dunkin'Dunkalatte
If you’ve never tried a Dunkalatte, you need to change that immediately. (I hadn’t and I’m seriously impressed.) This is a unique flavor combination that mixes espresso with a special coffee milk, which is a blend of whole milk with Dunkin’s coffee extract. It delivers a sweet and creamy drink that tastes a little like coffee ice cream, but it’s not so sweet that it’s overpowering. It also hits several coffee flavors in one, creating a really well-rounded beverage.
1. Dunkin'Cold Brew
Sure, I’m biased—Dunkin’s Cold Brew is what I drink on a daily basis. But after tasting everything the brand has to offer, I feel confident saying that this is the best choice. This drink is rich, flavorful and deep. It appeals to coffee lovers because it’s delicious, and you can customize it any way you please. Honestly, I give it a 10/10—no notes.
