Josh Radnor, who rose to fame as the lead character in the popular sitcomHow I Met Your Mother, officially became a father for the first time as he revealed the surprising news that he and his wife, Jordana Jacobs, welcomed their first child.
The 51-year-old actor shared the life-changing news on Instagram on Feb. 4, starting his message saying, "So my wife and I had a baby a few months ago (!!)."
"Here’s what we know so far," he went on, sharing a few things about his baby son. "His smile lights up the room. He’s super observant and thoughtful. He gets hypnotized when I play him songs on the guitar. He thinks the word 'baba ghanoush' is hysterical."
Radnor declared in a sweet comment, "He’s a total delight and Jordana and I are thrilled he’s here."
He went on to thank listeners of How We Made Your Mother, his rewatch podcast with show creator and writer Craig Thomas, noting that he shared the big news with listeners a few episodes ago.
"Sending love to all my fellow parents of newborns out there. What a wild, beautiful, exhausting, heart-opening initiation. So grateful," Radnor concluded.
He also shared a bunch of photos of the little one as he introduced his son to the world, with a snap of Radnor smiling and holding the baby, as well as one of his son relaxing on the side of the actor's guitar. The third photo showed Jacobs holding her son close shortly after his birth in the hospital.

The comments quickly filled with happy congratulations for the couple from friends and fans. AnnaSophia Robb wrote, "Oh Josh! Congratulations 💞💞💞❣️❣️❣️," while Rachel Zegler said, "CONGRATS FAMILY!!!"
Many fans shared GIFs from How I Met Your Mother to express their excitement, while others wrote, "This is so sweet. Congrats," "What a beautiful new chapter. Best wishes to you and your wife!!" and "Pure joy 💛. Congratulations!!!"
Radnor didn't share any details about the couple's new son, such as his name or exact date of birth. The actor and his wife tied the knot back in January 2024.
