The first two cast members of season 4 of The White Lotus have officially been announced
The actors confirmed the news on their respective Instagram pages
No plot details have been revealed
Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka are dusting off their passports and heading to The White Lotus.
The Earth Abides actor, 33, and The Goldbergs actress, 34, are the first two cast members set to join the highly anticipated season four of the HBO Max drama.
Although no plot details have been revealed, the new season will reportedly take place in France and follow “a new group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees over the span of a week,” according to an official description obtained by Variety.

Michalka confirmed the news of her casting by sharing Deadline's article about the news on Instagram next to a caption that read, "Checking in! 🛎️ Let’s party Mike 🪷." The show is created, written, and directed by Mike White.
Ludwig did the same by sharing a screenshot of the news article on his Instagram page and captioning it, "Beyond honored."
"Huge thank you to Mike for your trust in me and can’t wait to bring this unbelievable material to life. ❤️❤️❤️🙌🙌," the caption continued.

In a previous episode of Unpacking the Episode on HBO Max, White teased, “For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the ‘crashing waves against rocks’ vernacular. But there’s always room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels."
While The White Lotus has been renewed for another season, filming has not yet begun, and there is no word yet on when the new season will premiere.
Executive producer David Bernad previously teased what fans can expect for the theme of the new season, telling The Hollywood Reporter in August that it "is going to be relevant."

"I don’t want to say too much [other than] I know what it is and where it’s going, and it’s really exciting and I think people will be happy about the direction of season four," he said.
