King Charles took “brutal action” when his younger brother, former Prince Andrew‘s, name came up in the ongoing controversy. Moreover, after Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest, the monarch made it clear that no one is above the law. He hinted that “duty had to come before family.” And, according to an expert, due to all this, Andrew’s other siblings are likely facing a difficult time.

Ex-Prince Andrew’s siblings are possibly facing a difficult time, says expert

Ex-prince Andrew was not only stripped of his royal titles but also asked to vacate his home after his name came up in the Jeffrey Epstein controversy. After his arrest, even King Charles made his position clear. The King believes that “no-one is above the law and it must be allowed to take its course,” according to former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond.

Since the arrest, the former prince has been lying low. Moreover, Bond claims that his arrest and circumstances in the last few months have also created a “difficult situation” for his other siblings, Princess Anne and Prince Edward.

Bond told Mirror that after Andrew’s arrest, all of the late Queen Elizabeth’s children have been struggling. “This must be an incredibly difficult situation for all of Andrew’s siblings.” The expert further added that while Charles did the needful by “stripping” Andrew of “his titles, his position and his house,” for his siblings, Anne and Edward, “it may not seem quite so clear cut.”

Elaborating further on the stance, Bond states, “Andrew has protested his innocence not only publicly, but privately to his family. And it must be tough to look your brother in the eye and tell him that you don’t believe him.”

Moreover, the “constant stream of allegations against” the former Duke of York must have dwindled his siblings’ trust in him. Despite this, the expert feels Anne and Edward “must be concerned about Andrew’s well-being and mental health.”

However, Bond concludes that the priority of the siblings is “their loyalty to their eldest brother, the King, and to the institution of monarchy.” “And if that means leaving Andrew largely to fend for himself, then I think that is what they will do,” added the expert.
