Elizabeth Hurley Rewears Her Plunging Versace Dress from the Met Gala 27 Years Ago

Elizabeth Hurley wore the same dress she wore to the 1999 Met Gala during a recent trip to India

"27 years may have passed, but some loves never fade," the British actress wrote of the Versace gown on Instagram

Elizabeth Hurley is revisiting her Met Gala look from 27 years ago.

During a recent trip to India, the British actress and model, 60, wore the Versace gown she wore to the 1999 gala, which takes place annually in New York City. The black satin halter dress features a plunging neckline, thigh-high slit and pink and orange beaded cluster at the center of the bodice.

In an Instagram post shared on Sunday, March 8, Elizabeth shared a snap of her wearing the gown in 1999 next to one of herself in 2026.

"Viva Versace! For this weekend’s adventure in India, I dug into my archives and unearthed one of my favourite pieces, which I last wore to the Met Gala in 1999 😳 27 years may have passed, but some loves never fade💋," she captioned the post.

In a follow-up post, the actress shared, "India has been a pivotal part of my life for over 20 years and I cherish every moment in this magnificent country 🇮🇳 What a magical first night back in paradise, reuniting with some of my favorite people on the planet ♥️"

Elizabeth's son, Damian Hurley, showed support in the comments section, as did her boyfriend, Billy Ray Cyrus, who shared a series of hearts.

Damian, 23, recently opened up about his mom's relationship in an interview with The Standard published on Thursday, Feb. 19, saying that Cyrus, 64, was "a very sweet boyfriend who I adore."

The English actor and model — who is the son of Elizabeth and the late American film producer Steve Bing — added that Cyrus' six kids "are very, very sweet."

Cyrus shares Miley, 33, Braison, 31, and Noah, 26, with ex-wife Tish Cyrus. He also adopted Tish's two children, Brandi, 38, and Trace, 36, and shares son Christopher Cody, 33, with Kristen Luckey, whom he dated before meeting Tish.

Damian also said that he finds internet rumors about his mom's relationship "very strange and upsetting."

"Whenever I use my phone it is now flooded with so much stuff about all of us, the second I turn it on, which I found very strange and upsetting,” he told the outlet. "When I need to, I’m chronically offline. I delete Instagram for long chunks of time because it would be appalling to ever let that influence real life."

Elizabeth and Cyrus made their romance Instagram official in a joint post on Easter 2025. The actress and the "Achy Breaky Heart" singer first met while working together on the set of a Christmas movie in 2022 but did not reconnect romantically until after the country star's 2024 divorce from his third wife.
