Nate Smith has committed to his well-being, and he's seeing results.
The country music singer and TikTok sensation, who previously opened up about his battle with binge eating, shared his progress on his weight loss journey in a new interview with People magazine published Saturday, July 4.
"I think I want to get under 200 pounds," said Smith, who recently lost over 70 pounds. "I was like 275 pounds, somewhere in that world. But I want to get down to, like, 185 pounds again."
The "Whiskey on You" singer, 40, also got candid on the impact his improved health has had on his everyday life.
"I don't sweat anymore, which is amazing. I used to be totally out of breath tying my shoes. I can jump around a lot more," Smith said. "I just feel better. It's nice to be able to wear clothes that I like. I've been double [extra large] for the last five or six years, so I'm feeling really good."

In a previous interview with People magazine, Smith said his weight issues were fueled in part by his alcohol consumption and overeating. His declining health came to a head in the fall of 2024 when Smith became ill with a severe upper respiratory infection.

"It was rough," Smith told People last July. "I knew I was hurting myself, but I couldn't stop. It was like looking at this mountain and wondering, 'How do I get up there?' I didn't even know where to start."
Smith said that learning to create a healthier diet for himself, namely cutting back on alcohol and increasing his protein intake, helped him turn things around.
"I knew I needed to get some healthy food, or I wasn't going to get better," Smith said. "So, I threw out all the bad food in the house and bought some juices and fruit and things to give my body some fuel. Then I was like, 'Well, heck, what if I just kind of keep trying to eat better and maybe eat less?'"

Smith's health journey has even helped the singer in his music career, strengthening the emotional connection he has with fans.
"People come up to me at meet-and-greets and say, 'Dude, I'm doing the same [diet], and I'm down 30 pounds," Smith said. "It's been really fun and absolutely meaningful to be able to inspire people."
