Catherine Zeta-Jones wore a red ruched dress for Netflix's Wednesday Emmys FYSEE Event on May 22.

The dress featured a red flower in a seeming nod to her character, Morticia Addams.

Catherine Zeta-Jones just offered up an example of how to do method dressing right. Attending Netflix's Wednesday Emmys FYSEE Event on May 22, the actress wore a glamorous evening gown—with a pitch-perfect Morticia Addams-coded gothic spin.

The dress, from Magda Butrym, was a bright red bodycon gown, which featured draped ruching, along with the brand's signature floral appliqué detail at the neck. A red rose, the appliqué was an apparent nod to the red roses that Morticia famously chops up in the iconic 1991 Addams Family movie. Zeta-Jones completed her look with an oversized slouchy black blazer, which she draped around her shoulders, and a pair of black leather glove heels. She wore her dark hair in loose waves and a center part and sported a gothic makeup look, pairing a deep brown-red lip with a dramatic smokey eye.

Zeta-Jones was joined at the event by Jenna Ortega, who plays her daughter, the titular Wednesday in the Netflix show. Ortega also amped up the gothic chic, wearing a McQueen gray suit with a white corset-style lace-up collar.

Like Ortega, who is a self-proclaimed goth girl at heart, Zeta-Jones has had no trouble embracing Wednesday's spooky, ooky vibes. Speaking to British Vogue, she said, "I didn't push my goth as a teenager because of working. If I was not working when I was a teenager, I would have pushed the goth."

She added that the "majority" of her closet has always been filled with black. "The goth has been kind of laying dormant in me for many years," she concluded. No wonder she wears it so well.
