Brenda Song claimed Alaska Airlines gave away her family’s first-class seats the morning of their flight with “no warning”
“We will never fly @alaskaair again and neither should you,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories
The Running Point actress also claimed that the incident resulted in being split up from her and Macaulay Culkin’s two sons, Dakota and Carson
Brenda Song is calling out Alaska Airlines for splitting up her family during a recent vacation.
On Saturday, March 21, the Suite Life of Zack and Cody alum, 37, said that she and her family would never fly the airline again after claiming her family’s seats were given up with no warning.
“I didn’t know when you book your first class tickets 6 months in advance for your family of six for your son’s birthday — @alaskaair can just give away your seats the morning of with no warning — splitting up you and your 3 and 4 year old kids,” Song wrote on her Instagram Stories. “We will never fly @alaskaair again and neither should you.”
Song and her fiancé, Macaulay Culkin share sons Dakota Song Culkin, born on April 5, 2021, and Carson, whose birth was confirmed in December 2022 by his uncle, Kieran Culkin.

A representative for Alaska Airlines told PEOPLE in a statement that Song and her family’s experience was "unacceptable and not reflective of the care” they strive to provide.

"Traveling can be stressful, especially with young children, and we pride ourselves on being a top airline for traveling families,” the representative continued. “We are deeply sorry for adding friction to the experience."
Alaska Airlines added that they "have reached out to the family to make it right," noting that "we appreciate that guests have a choice in the airline they select and we take our responsibility to deliver a safe, reliable, and caring experience every single time."

While Song and Culkin are private when it comes to their children, the Running Point actress told PEOPLE in November 2025 that they’ve grown to love traveling as a family — especially after spending a bit of time in Hawaii.
"We went on a trip to Hawaii this past summer, and it was just so much fun, simply because I think my boys are at an age now where they can actually enjoy it,” she said. “They were at the beach every day, riding bikes, doing all of the activities, and it was really special. My parents were there, and so to me that felt like our first family vacay, a proper one.”
While she had her heart set on taking a trip to somewhere like Fiji or Japan for their next trip, Song also revealed that her favorite thing to do while traveling is to “eat my way through wherever I’m at.”
"I spend a lot of time in Paris and I love French cuisine, and so we had an incredible, I almost want to call it omakase, but it's a tasting menu that just blew my mind,” she continued. “It was at Joël Robuchon's restaurant and it was just the first time that I had French food."
