Beyoncé has surprisingly upset the Beyhive with her latest launch, priced at almost $1,000.
On Friday, September 4, the R&B-pop superstar turned 45, and in celebration of her birthday and the 20th anniversary of her 2006 album B'Day, she sold a "limited edition of 500" wooden "Bey keeper collector's box" for $948.01. Many of Bey's fans inundated the comment section of Beyonce's Parkwood Entertainment Instagram account to express their frustration with the Grammy-winning singer's empty-box product release. A Beyoncé fan wrote that the release was a "disgusting display of greed" from an artist with an estimated $1 billion net worth.
Another added, "$1K and it's an empty box. Beyonce, you have lost your damn mind!" while a third wrote, "For that price I need you to pop out the box and perform." Between Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z, the power couple's net worth is $2.5 billion.

The confusion seems to stem from a discrepancy in the product description, which says the item is a collector's box "designed to house and display your Beyonce vinyl collection," yet it doesn't include a record of B'Day or any other album from the songstress.

Also, Beyonce fans griped about the choice of pine used for the box, considering to be a cheap kind of wood for the price. While the price is a bit expensive, it was set intentionally to mirror her birthday of September 4, 1981. However, some fans claimed that the price would've still worked at $94.81.
While a limited vinyl wasn't included in the "Bey collector's box," Beyoncé did drop a 31-track re-release of her album B'Day for its 20th anniversary.

It comes with the unreleased tracks, including Lost Yo Mind, Creole, Back Up, My First Time, and Can I Watch You featuring Pharrell Williams.
Furthermore, there will be Spanish versions of songs like Get Me Bodied (Mueve el Cuerpo) with Colombian reggaeton superstar Maluma, along with Irreplaceable featuring a sample of late Tejano legend Selena.
At the time that B'Day was originally released, it was a massive success, selling 8 million copies worldwide, and having several hits including Irreplaceable, Ring The Alarm, Deja Vu, and Green Light. It also landed her a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album.

According to a Beyoncé fan page on X, formerly known as Twitter, the Crazy in Love crooner reflected on her second solo album in the 20th anniversary B'Day vinyl booklet.
"This album gave me permission to be free...to sang, scream, dominate, sweat, kick, break guitars, cry, experiment, spit [my] bars, and speak [my] mind. B'DAY walked so now I can fly," the booklet is said to have read.
