Adam Devine had a shocking revelation during a surprise a cappella performance in San Francisco ahead of Super Bowl LX.
On Wednesday, Feb. 4, the Pitch Perfect star, 42, teamed up with NFL stars George Kittle, Bijan Robinson and Jordan Mailata for a high-energy, music pop-up at the Golden City’s iconic Ferry Building. While Devine was ready to give it his all for the special performance, he wasn’t prepared to hear the pipes on one of the athletes.“Jordan Mailata, he has such a beautiful voice,” Devine tells PEOPLE of the Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle. “The guy is 6’8”, 360 pounds, he’s a mountain of a man. And then — stunning voice — like truly takes you back.”

In fact, he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to match his skills.“I had to follow him singing,” Devine says. “It was a disaster, but it was only good fun.”
The pop-up marked the end of Marriott Bonvoy’s Keysakes campaign, which gave members the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime overnight stay inside Levi’s Stadium for the night before the 2026 Super Bowl. Each year, the brand transforms one luxury suite inside the big game’s stadium into a working hotel room.
Now in its 10th year, Devine — as Marriott Bonvoy's official “Fanbassador” — announced the winner the only way he knows how: by singing. Alongside the NFL legends, the group performed an a cappella rendition of Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger.”

“We had some choreo that we all sort of messed up, but it was really funny,” Devine says. “It was just a blast. I totally blanked on the lyrics, I just made up my own.”
When the stars arrived for the surprise event, the Workaholics actor says onlookers were “losing their minds,” but he says it wasn’t for him.“I would say 85% of them losing their minds was because George Kittle was there and we’re in San Francisco,” he says of the 49ers tight end. “It was pretty incredible.”

Devine says in recent years, Kittle has become a “buddy” of his. Despite his torn Achilles, he still attended the event in a wheelchair to support his friend, even poking fun at the Modern Family alum with a cutout of his face on the bottom of Kittle’s boot.
“And then Bijan Robinson is such a sweet kid, super talented,” Devine says. “He’s just one of those kids that I feel can do anything.”
The pop-up comes more than a decade after the initial release of Pitch Perfect in September 2012. But Devine says it's “easy” to step into another musical role.
“I’m a song and dance fan at heart,” he says. “So it’s fun and easy to kind of pop back into that.”

I’m not a real singer and people think I am," Devine adds. "And then you see Jordan and he is such a real singer… But I think that’s kind of what’s funny about me doing it. A kid that’s in the crowd can look out and be like, ‘Well, I can do that. I could be that guy. I’m a good enough singer.’ ”
Super Bowl LX airs live on NBC and streams on Peacock on Sunday, Feb. 8, from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
